Overview
We are seeking a full-time Fourth Class Power Engineer to join our Freeman Lumber Team. As a Power Engineer, reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in keeping our operations running smoothly. You will have the opportunity to work directly with experienced engineers on industrial boilers and kilns, and you’ll be recognized for the skills you bring.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor two boilers and 14 kilns on site

Arrive prepared and ready to contribute each day

Follow the preventative maintenance schedule and perform additional servicing as needed
-
Troubleshoot and follow up on issues that could disrupt production
-
Report incidents, hazards, or near misses promptly to your supervisor

Work safely every day, including:
-
Lock‑out procedures
-
Safe chemical mixing for boilers
-
Recognizing and avoiding unsafe areas
-

Communicate with operators to ensure consistent fuel supply and efficient burning
Skills/Abilities:
-
Strong interest in learning and mastering all aspects of the role

Ability to complete required daily paperwork accurately

Commitment to production goals, including minimizing kiln idle time

Willingness to perform maintenance work appropriate to skill level
-
Initiative to support co‑workers and contribute to team success
Qualifications:
-
Required - Certified Fourth Class Power Engineer
-
No experience required
-
Legally eligible to work in Canada
Compensation: Starting at $33.78/hr
Expected Hours: 42hrs/week (12hr shift)
