Description

Shift Manager

Port Hawkesbury Paper is currently seeking an individual for the position of Shift Manager. Reporting to the Paper Machine Manager, this position is responsible for the efficient management of Mill Operations (Paper Machine 2, Thermal Mechanical Pulp, Woodroom, Woodyard, Effluent, Clay and Warehouse) on a 12-hour shift schedule. Post-secondary education and progressive experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or related industrial unionized environment will be considered an asset. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with experience in the paper industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Interact with the Maintenance, Shipping, Scheduling, and other departments, as well as suppliers and consultants, as required
  • Ensure activities are optimized for safety and environmental compliance, quality, efficiency, and cost control
  • Support all safety and training programs
  • Lead the Mill Emergency Response Team
