Women’s Mentorship Group
The Women in Forestry Mentorship Group is a province-wide network dedicated to empowering, supporting, and advancing women and transwomen across Nova Scotia’s forestry sector. Through meaningful mentorship, knowledge sharing, and community connection, we create space for women to learn from one another, build confidence, and grow their careers.
Our mission is to foster a diverse, inclusive, and equitable forestry sector where women of all backgrounds can thrive and step into leadership. By encouraging collaboration, sharing lived experience, and advocating for positive change, we work to break down barriers, strengthen professional pathways, and invest in the long-term sustainability of the sector.
The group was established in 2023 as a grassroots initiative among women working in Western Nova Scotia who recognized a shared need for mentorship and peer support. Since then, it has grown into an engaged network of more than 90 women from across the province, connecting regularly through learning opportunities, conversations, and networking events.
