Location: North Lochaber (Antigonish County)

Job Type: Full time (45-50 hours per week, morning or afternoon shifts available)
Pay: Wage dependent on experience; pay at or above industry standards

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Forestry Equipment Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be expected to run forestry equipment to harvest trees in an efficient manor, setting up the trucking team for success to deliver our wood to the mills for further processing. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about working in the woods and eager to make an impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating a 2019 John Deere 1210G forwarder
- Daily inspections and performing routine maintenance.
- Following all safety procedures and regulations.
- Communicate major maintenance needs with the Supervisor.
- Report any accidents/incidents to the Supervisor immediately.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience operating logging equipment, heavy equipment, or other similar position is considered an asset. However, we are willing to train the right candidate
- Ability to work in remote locations and various weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently for 10+ hours per day.
- Interested in working 45+ hours per week.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Formal training in logging equipment or heavy equipment operation is considered an asset.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
