Overview
We are looking for one full-time Fire Watch position to join our Freeman Lumber Maintenance Team. This role reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and will be responsible for performing fire watch in the mill, including:

Performing fire inspection/watch around hot work areas at timed intervals

Identifying and resolving any fire safety hazards and notifying management of any significant action required

Maintaining a clean and safe work area, collecting and disposing of debris in assigned areas

Showing a willingness and flexibility to perform various job assignments that may change daily
-
Working safely, ensuring that all safety procedures and applicable codes are followed

Performing all other duties as assigned
Skills/Abilities:
-
Ensure compliance with safe work practices and health and safety policies and procedures
-
Work with minimal supervision
-
Ability to multi-task while working under pressure
-
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
-
Must be physically capable of bending, reaching, lifting and able to work in extreme environments (hot, cold, rain, snow)

Availability to work shift work (day/evening shifts), weekends, and holidays
Qualifications:
-
Minimum six (6) months experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
-
Must possess a valid driver’s license
-
Must be qualified to work in Canada
Compensation: Starting at $23.33/hr ($22.25/hr for the probation period)
