Overview
We are seeking a full‑time Electrician to join our Electrical Team. Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and optimizing mill systems. This is a hands‑on role with opportunities to take on added responsibility as you grow with the team. Our modern facility employs 200 team members and continues to invest in the latest technologies to remain at the cutting edge of manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC‑based automated equipment, controls, and plant power systems

Diagnose and repair electrical/instrumentation issues including DC drives, AC inverters, PLC hardware/software, and networking systems

Perform calibration, preventive maintenance, and parameter adjustments to ensure safe, efficient mill operations

Read and interpret complex electrical schematics and blueprints

Work closely with Mechanics, Supervisors, and Operations to maximize equipment performance

Assist with new installations and planned maintenance activities

Promote and demonstrate safe work practices, including lock‑out procedures
Skills/Abilities:

Promote and demonstrate constant safety behaviour

Ensure compliance of safe work practices and health and safety policies and procedures

Ability to understand and satisfactory complete WO's, PMs, and other tasks in a timely manner while following all Safety Requirements and Lock-out Procedures

Aptitude for diagnosing and correcting electrical/instrumentation problems

Ability to troubleshoot and repair DC drivers, AC inverters, PLC controls and hardware

Create and read complex electrical schematics and blueprints

Ability to multi-task while working under pressure

Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

Team players

Computer skills including Microsoft Office Programs

Work with minimal supervision

Must be physically capable of bending, reaching, lifting and able to work in extreme environments (hot, cold, rain, snow)

Availability to work shiftwork (day/evening shifts), weekends and holidays
Qualifications:
Possess one of the following diplomas or equivalent experience:
-
Journey Person Electrician
-
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
-
Demonstrated knowledge of:
-
Distributed I/O and control networks (Controlnet, Ethernet, etc.)
-
Electro-hydraulic and electro-pneumatic components
-
Electronic components (such as Control and Instrumentation principles and function)
-
Closed-loop servosystems (encoders, AC Drive, PLC, Servomotors, etc.)
-
Allen Bradley (Logix Family) and Siemens PLC hardware and programming software (Rockwell RS Logix 500 and 5000, Step-7)
-
HMI knowledge (Allen Bradley, Siemens)
Compensation: $25.44 - $37.49/hr, commensurate with experience ($25.44/hr for the probation period)

Relocation:
Relocation assistance may be provided as required. A shared company house is available close to the mill location to help you settle in.
