Payroll and Administrative Clerk

We currently have a vacancy for a full-time Payroll and Administrative Clerk. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing company payroll and supporting a variety of administrative functions.
Role Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Processing and administering bi-weekly payroll.

Collecting, reviewing, and entering timesheet data into the computerized Sage payroll system.

Calculating gross and net wages and salaries, deductions, taxes, and insurance payments.

Maintaining accurate employee records and personal information, ensuring compliance with applicable labour legislation and audit requirements.

Accounts payable whilst providing cover for the Accounts Payable and Lumber Shipping role. Additional hours will be required when covering for this role.

Entering tax bill information and related data.

Maintaining filing systems and records.

Operating the company switchboard and directing incoming calls.

Serving as the super user for the Manusonic time clock and payroll system.

Performing additional administrative duties as required, including appointment scheduling.

Providing customer service to employees by responding to payroll inquiries, correcting discrepancies, and resolving payroll-related issues.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills

High School Diploma (Gd 12 graduation)

Canadian Payroll Association Certificates are preferred

A minimum of 3 years experience with payroll processing and administration.

Proficiency with Sage payroll software or similar computerized payroll systems.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Strong communication and customer service abilities.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
